2010 RimFire Rifle League (RRL)
Description: 8 week league for shooter to try their skills at offhand standing rifle shooting at 25 yards targets in a relaxed setting. Shooters are welcome to participate for the full league or only as many times as can make it. Shooters are not required to pay or commit to a full 8 week league. Shooters that can make it one time, all eight times, or anything in between are encouraged to come and to bring a friend.
Rules: BE SAFE and Courteous and all GCF&G range rules apply.
Eligibility: Open to Public
Gun: Any safe .22 or .17 rimfire rifle. (Slings may be used)
Sights: Any sights – metallic, Optical, electronic – may be used.
Target and Distance: The NRA official A-23/5 target at 25 Yards will be used.
Course of Fire: All competitors to shoot in offhand standing position. Target is supplied with 5 bullseyes one of which is noted as a practice or sighter and the remaining four, for score. Scoring of the 4 bullseyes consists of 10 shots each for a total of 40 shots. Scoring is based on the honor system and NRA smallbore rifle rules. A competitor would need to complete at least six matches to qualify for a league score. Total league score would be complied of the top six match scores. Winner will receive a well deserved pat on the back and a verbal congratulation.
Dates and Times: The league is an eight week course starting with a practice round on April 6, 2010 at approximately 5:30 - 6:00 PM. League will continue every Tuesday until May 25, 2010 upon which will be a make-up shoot and awards given out.
Fees: Fees will be collected every week. Members of GCF&G entry fee will be $2 and Non-members will be $3. Fees will cover target cost and GCF&G fees. If a high enough participation is given during the eight weeks a small picnic will be planned for May 25, 2010 after shooting is complete.
