RimFire Rifle League

2012 Rim-Fire Rifle League (RRL)

Description: This league is an eight week league for shooters to try their skills at offhand standing rifle shooting at a 25 yard target in a relaxed atmosphere.  Shooters are welcome to participate for the full league or only as many times as can make it.  Shooters are not required to pay or commit to a full 8 week league.  Shooters that can make it one time, all eight times, or anything in between are encouraged to come and to bring a friend.

Rules: BE SAFE and Courteous and all GCF&G range rules apply.

Eligibility: Open to Public

Gun: Any safe .22 or .17 rim-fire rifle. (Slings may be used)

Sights: Any sights – metallic, Optical, electronic – may be used.

Target and Distance: The NRA official A-23/5 target at 25 Yards will be used.  This target is normally used at 50 yards.

Course of Fire:  All competitors are to shoot in offhand at a standing position.  Target will be supplied with 5 bullseyes, one of which is noted as a practice or sighter and the remaining four, for score.  Scoring of the 4 bullseyes consists of 10 shots each for a total of 40 shots.  Scoring is based on the honor system and NRA small-bore rifle rules.  A competitor would need to complete at least six matches to qualify for a league score and the picnic. Total league score would be complied of the top six match scores.  Top shooters will receive a well deserved pat on the back and a verbal congratulation.

Dates and Times: The league is an eight week course starting with a practice on April 10, 2012 at approximately 5:00 - 6:00 PM.   This practice round is a great time to come see how the league is conducted and answer any question you may have, but is not mandatory.  League will continue every Tuesday until May 28, 2012 upon which will be a make-up shoot.

Fees: Fees will be collected every week.  Members of GCF&G entry fee will be $2 and Non-members will be $3.  Fees will cover target cost and GCF&G fees.

Picnic: A picnic will be held for those who have completed the league (a minimum of six scores).  The picnic this year will be on June 5, 2012.  Ideas are still being passed around on having some prize shoots that day, so be sure to bring your rifle.  More details on these items to follow.

This league is co-chaired by Aaron (Drew) Watkins and Jeff Shingler
