2024 RRL Offhand Matches

Description: This league is a ten-week league for shooters to try their skills at offhand standing rifle shooting at a 25-yard target in a relaxed atmosphere.  Shooters are welcome to participate for the full league or only as many times as can make it. Shooters will score their best eight matches and drop their two lowest matches. Shooters are not required to pay or commit to a full 10-week league.  Shooters that can make one match, all ten matches, or anything in between are encouraged to come and to bring a friend. 

Rules: BE SAFE and courteous and all GCF&G range rules apply.
Eligibility: Open to Public (Bring a friend)
Gun: Any safe .22 or .17 HMR (Rimfire Rifles Only).  Slings may be used.
Sights: Any sights – metallic, optical, electronic – may be used.

Target and Distance: The NRA official A-23/5 target will be used at the GCF&G 25-yard rifle range.

Course of Fire (Match):  All competitors are to shoot in offhand at a standing position.  Target will be supplied with 5 bullseyes, one of which is noted as a practice or sighter and the remaining 4, for score.  Scoring of the 4 bullseyes consists of 10 shots each for a total of 40 shots.  The maximum score is 400.  In case of ties, the shooter with the most shots scoring a 10 will be declared the winner. There is no time limit.  Scoring is based on the honor system. If you would like to qualify to compete for a league score and prizes, you must shoot in at least 8 matches.  Total league score would be compiled of your top 8 match scores.  Prizes will be given to the top 3 shooters.

Dates and Times: The league starts at approximately 5:00 PM on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 and it runs for 10 weeks, until June 6, 2023.  If you are a little late due to work, that's ok, our goal is to give every shooter a chance to shoot.

Fees: Fees will be collected every week.  Members of GCF&G entry fee will be $3 and non-members will be $4 per match.  If you pay for all 10 matches upfront by April 9 (the 2nd match), you will receive the following discount: Members of GCF&G pay $20 and non-members pay $30.  This discounted offer expires after the 2nd match on April 2nd.  Fees will cover target cost and GCF&G fees.


Award/Pizza Party: An award and pizza party will be held for those who have completed the league (shoot in at least 8 matches) on June 7, 2024, from 5pm-7pm, at the GCF&G Club House.  Awards will be given to the top 3 shooters. 

2024 RRL Benchrest Matches

Description: This league is a ten-week league for shooters to try their skills at benchrest rifle shooting at a 50-yard target, in a relaxed atmosphere. Shooters are welcome to participate for the full league or only as many times as can make it. Shooters will score their best 8 matches and drop their 2 lowest matches. Shooters are not required to pay or commit to a full 10-week league.  Shooters that can make 1 match, all 10 matches, or anything in between are encouraged to come and to bring a friend. Note: Rifles are to be free floating, no strapping or clamping the rifle down to the rest and no one piece rests are permitted.

Rules: BE SAFE and Courteous and all GCF&G range rules apply.

Gun: Any safe .22 or .17 HMR (Rimfire Rifles Only).  Slings may be used.
Sights: Any sights – metallic, Optical, electronic – may be used. Optics are strongly suggested.

Target and Distance: The Official United States Benchrest (USBR), 16” x 14” 50-yard target will be used at the GCF&G 50-yard rifle range.

Course of Fire:  All competitors shoot off of the benches provided by GCF&G with sandbags and/or shooting rests.  There are 25 scoring targets on each sheet, along with 3 practice or sighter targets.  The scoring targets have numbered rings along with a 10 ring.  Scoring of the targets consists of 1 shot for each scoring target, for a total of 25 shots.  The maximum score is 250.  There is no time limit.  Scoring is based on the honor system.  In case of ties, the shooter with the most shots scoring a 10 will be declared the winner.  If you would like to qualify to compete for a league score and prizes, you must shoot in at least 8 matches.  Total league score would be compiled of your top 8 match scores. 

Benchrest Divisions: There are two divisions in the benchrest league: openand sportsman.  The open division are for rifles that MSRP $1000 or more, excluding optic.  The sportsman division are for rifles that MSRP $1000 or less, excluding optic. This price includes all rifle modifications.       

Dates and Times: The league will start Tuesday, August 6, 2024 and run 10 weeks until October 8, 2024.  The first relay will begin at approximately 5 pm. If you are a little late due to work, that's ok, our goal is to give every shooter a chance to shoot.
